Working against a predefined budget, our main challenge was to create space and a neutral design to make this rental property as easily marketable as possible.
The black and white furnishing was counteracted with the playful pops of colour in the soft furnishing which included throw overs, luscious bed cushions, bathroom towels, frames, wall-art and furniture decorations. These provided the perfect hotel-like qualities as well as served to upsell the property in a very inexpensive manner.
Having reasonably priced soft furnishing enables the client to easily refresh the property when necessary, particularly if a series of tenants occupy it over a short period of time.
The project saw us complete a sole maisonette from scratch. Starting off from shell form, we modified the property by removing a series of arches and internal windows to infuse an airy atmosphere. Structurally we knocked down a room to create an open plan as the property only had room for a kitchen.
The three bedrooms were reduced to two as one was transformed into a living room. The black and white furniture and neutral palette bring forth elegance, as well as the flexibility for occupants to fashion the space as they please. Having to be economical on space, a bath and shower were both included within the bathroom.
