SERVICE Architecture | Interior Design
The project included the entire stream of services, starting off with planning the layout, to building the structure, sourcing the materials as well as the interior design.
Whilst the client had several requirements in respect to the features they desired to have within their home, we were given a blank slate in terms of the external design.
This property is the pure definition of 21st century living – a minimalist outdoor design complemented by a rich interior, proving that less is truly more. A variety of styles and materials were used yet through careful attention to detail all came together nicely.
Besides the playful use of geometry in the external windows, the ceiling in the living room utilises the same parquet used in the floor – creating a feeling of coziness – almost as though the user is encapsulated in their own personal cocoon together with all their favourite people.
In contrast to its surrounding properties, this villa stands out for its clean, modern lines. This is extenuated through the geometric shapes, which are given a playful twist through the different material such as rich wood and marble.
Long horizontal windows as well as floor to ceiling apertures, make the most of the view and welcome bright light into the property.
The window design was specific to each room’s purpose. For instance, the kitchen’s window was low yet as one looks out can see the entrance’s plants underneath, creating a feeling of suspension and privacy from the road outside. The floor to ceiling windows on the upper floors were in line with a massive outdoor tree, creating the feeling of height as well as openness.
Whilst the design is contemporary, we utilized a variety of rich materials such as marble and wood, both internally and on the facade. The bathrooms also have a luxurious aesthetic, creating a perfect haven for relaxation.
The outdoor area is perfect for entertaining, and besides including a child’s pool and one for adults, it has an artificial lawn – perfect for sundrenched spring and summer days.
